
Covid-19 pandemic imposed restrictions will have its reflections on the 10 days Dasara festivities in Mysuru this year. In a high level meeting headed by Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today in Bengaluru it was decided to limit the festivities to only essential customs and religious practices.
Briefing the media persons after the meeting, the Minister for Kannada and Culture, C T Ravi said that the festivities will be inaugurated by offering puja to goddess Chamundeshwari and concluded with the Jumbo Savari procession within the city palace premises. There will be no sports, youth and food festivals to coincide with Dasara. It was also decided in the meeting to felicitate Covid fronline warriors and to avoid use of any Chinese goods during the festivities.
