NABH Certificate of Accreditation presented to KIMS

Hyderabad: Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd. (KIMS), a 300 bedded, upscale, Multi Super Specialty Hospital at Hyderabad was presented the NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) Certificate of Accreditation at a ceremony organised at its premises here at Hyderabad today. Dr. Girdhar J. Gyani, CEO – NABH presented the Certificate of Accreditation to Mr. B. Krishnaiah, Chairman – KIMS. Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer – KIMS was also present on the occasion. KIMS is one of the 98 hospitals out of hundreds and thousands hospitals in the country to have NABH accreditation. And it is the eighth hospital in the state of Andhra Pradesh to get the accreditation. The accreditation is granted for three years after which its standards will be reviewed. The certificate is valid up to July 2014.

In a press note issued in city Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, MD & CEO – KIMS informed that Safety, Quality Healthcare, accountability have been the hallmarks of KIMS. Right from its inception, KIMS left no stone unturned to deliver the same to its patients. National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare providers (NABH) has designed an exhaustive healthcare standard for hospitals and healthcare providers. This standard consists of stringent 500 plus objective elements for the hospital to achieve in order to get the NABH accreditation. KIMS is proud to achieve the accreditation.

With the NABH Accreditation the patient can be rest assured that the hospital follows stringent standards as laid down by the accreditation body for providing the best in patient care comparable to any international hospital of repute. Accreditation will help us to continuously improve and provide quality care informed Mr. B. Krishnaiah, Chairman – KIMS.

NABH, a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation Programme for healthcare organizations confirmed KIMS as a centre for excellence after a grueling inspection for 14 days. The focus of accreditation is on continuous improvement in the organizational and clinical performance of health services. To comply with these standard elements, the hospital needs to have a process-driven approach in all aspects of hospital activities – from registration, admission, pre-surgery, peri-surgery and post-surgery protocols, discharge from the hospital to follow-up with the hospital after discharge, etc.
