Narendra Modi takes oath as Prime Minister of India for a second consecutive term

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath of office for the second time in a row at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday evening.

Council of Ministers which includes BJP lawmakers and NDA leaders followed next, taking oath of office and secrecy.

The event was attended by nearly 8,000 guests, including foreign dignitaries and chief ministers and governors, and watched by millions across the world via live telecast.

The guests attending the swearing-in ceremony were treated to high tea at PM Modi’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. President Ram Nath Kovind will later host a private dinner for the leaders.
