Mangaldai   : Intra College Science Quiz Contest and career counseling has marked celebration of the National Science Day celebration at Mangaldai on Thursday in connection with birth day of eminent Scientist, C.V.Raman. The programme has been jointly organized at Mangaldai college by Assam Science Society, Mangaldai Branch, IQAC, DBT Star College Scheme & IBT hub, In the intra college  science quiz contest conducted by Dr Kamala Kanta Borah , Coordinator of  Assam Science Society, Darrang chapter , the four member team comprising Pranjal Kumar Nath, Jintumani Saharia, Harekrishna Deka & Rijuwan Ahmed  has bagged the first prize while the team with Aswini Kumar Kashyap, Nistha Sarma & Yasrina Rubi Sultana came closer as the runner up .. The Science quiz competition was followed by a meet on  career counselling on the topic “Employment Opportunities & Career Prospects” where Prof. Hemanta Kumar Sarma, Dept. of Mathematics, Gauhati University delivered lecture as the resource person. He encouraged the students to prepare for competitive examinations like UPSC, APSC, SSC etc. Besides, he informed the gathering that Fire Safety is another area for employment avenues lying unknown by our students. He tried to encourage the students for self dependence and to develop entrepreneurship. He also encouraged all the students and teachers to form an economic society by the name Mangaldai Economic Society for economic development. He also fervently appealed all the responsible citizens of Mangaldai to create public opinion for opening up a fire safety training institute (FSTI) in district  which would bring possibility of  the highest level of employment avenues. In his long three hours talk he highlighted many personalities of Assam who are real heros of our society whom the society hardly pay the respect. They should be brought to the lime light

Earlier  Dr. B.C. Hazarika, Principal Kharupetia College ceremonially marked the beginning of the programme with garlanding the portrait of  C.V.Raman and lighting the ceremonial lamp while Prof Paresh Kumar Sarma, Coordinator, IQAC ,Mangaldai College presented the welcome address.
