Haflong : Deputy Chairman of N C Hills Autonomous Council Bimal Hojai inaugurated the newly upgraded Higher Secondary School in presence of Principal, Teachers, students and prominent persons of Hatikhali on Wednesday with daylong programm.

The day’s glittering program was started with ‘Saraswati Bandana’, breaking of coconut and cutting of ribbon by the chief guest Bimal Hojai who is also the local MAC of Hatikhali .

This was followed by a meeting with Bipul Langthasa, a prominent person of Hatikhali in the chair while Principal, Ashit Kr.Sen Principal HHSS, Promud Hakmaosa, Social Worker, Bipul Langthasa, Mouzadar ,Sunil Hapila GB Dima Hading, Karamchand Sengyung, Kamalendu Deb Retd HM HHS,Darren Maibangsa, N.C.Baisya CRCC,Mahanchand Sengyung, ex-student Pankaj Kumar Deb, senior journalist Anup Biswas attended as the guests of honour.

Following offering floral tribute to the portrait of Land donor Late J L Hakmosa all the guests were felicitated by the students of the school with gamocha.

The students and teachers of the school performed few songs which kept the guests mesmerized.

Former teachers including founder teachers of the school spoke high about the success of the school and appealed the students and the guardians to maintain the tradition of success being sincere and respectful.

Deputy Chairman, Hojai talking to the media offered his heartfelt thanks to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, CEM, MLA, EM for their efforts to upgrade the school into Higher Secondary school which would benefit the students of Hatikhali to a great extent.

Principal Sen said for him it was a red-letter day because with the upgradation he got the opportunity to become the first Principal of the school. He offered his gratitude to State Government, Council Authority and all the personalities who have contributed a lot for the upgradation of the school.
