Haflong : Setting February 16 as deadline for the payment of compensation N C Hills Indigenous Student Forum and Indigenous women Forum threatened for indefinite Rail blockade from February 17th, 2020 informed the President of NCHISF, David Keivom in press meet held at the office of the N C Hills Indigenous Student Forum  on Saturday.

They had called Blockade on 7-9 March 2019 but called off after receiving invitation from Chief Minister. On 11 March 2019 under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister joint meeting was held at Guwahati to discuss the Compensation.  In the meeting Chief Minister had directed the General Manager, NF Railway to make payment to all the necessary Compensation and the GM had given assurance that he would do it.

They once again approach the Chief Minister on 21st November 2019 and he again reminded the Railway Authority to release the Compensation. The Railway Authority had given assurance that they would release the Compensation amount but till today no payment was made. GM had earlier given assurance that they would release the Compensation after the Submission of joint survey report, but it has also been almost 1 year but no payment was made. It seems that the Railway Authority have no respect to the Chief Minister, as they have no other option other than to organise agitation program and which NCHISF and IWF should not be held responsible.
