Haflong : Opposing the N F railway’s proposal re-assessment, the N C Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum has submitted a representation in regards to BG Line Conversion affected Compensation to the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao Sri Amitabh Rajkhowa on Friday.

The representation signed by David Keivom President and Paoneilun Changsan, General Secretary on behalf of the BG Line Construction affected families once again requested his support in solving the issue.

It is learnt that, the NF Railway Authority intended to form a Committee for Survey and re-assessment of the BG Line affected areas, they totally oppose the NF Railway Authority’s  proposal for re-assessment as they feel that it was their another delaying tactic where as they have no objection for spot survey/ enquiry of the damages as survey and assessment has been jointly done several times with the District Administration, Revenue Department, the Railways Authority and the NCHISF Representatives way back in 2015.

Accordingly, the estimate of Zeerat (1.78 Cr) and Land Development Cost(6.46Cr) was submitted way back in 2016 and the Railway paid the Zeerat value in 2017. Also, even the Deputy Commissioner had written a letter to the General Manager, Construction NF Railway on 28th February,2018 informing him that the Land Development charges was examined and found genuine. They therefore requested him to kindly take necessary action to release the necessary compensation as promised by the NF Railway Authority within 30 days, So that they might not be compelled to continue their agitation program.
