Mumbai : NCPA along with South Asian Symphony Foundation presents Chiragh, a concert by the South Asian
Symphony Orchestra (SASO) that will promote cultural diplomacy through music, among the eight nations of South Asia on 26th April 2019 at TataTheatre, National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA).
The concert will feature the classical works by Beethoven, Bizet, Brahms, Mozart, Puccini, and Felicien David will be conducted by Houston-based Viswa Subbaraman. Sri Lankan-born Tharanga Goonetilleke of New York will be the vocal soloist. A specially commissioned orchestral work, Hamsafar: A Journey through South Asia will be premiered and narrated by Lillete Dubey. Another commissioned work by the Indian American composer Kamala Sankaram, titled “Bhadke” will be premiered at the concert.
