Kokrajhar : A cadre of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit (NDFB_S) was apprehended from Ultapani Labanyapur area under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar district late last evening.

Based in specific information,  security forces  belonging to Assam police and Indian army carried out a joint search operation at Labanyapur area under Bishmuri Police Outpost, and able to nab the rebel along with arms and ammunition.

One 7.65 mm pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, rupees 14,600 in cash and some incriminating documents recovered from him.

Taking to  Reporters, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh said that the arrested rebel has been identified as Thumba Brahma alias Thwiswm and was a 42nd batch cadre of the outfit trained in Myanmar.

The Kokrajhar SP said the arrested NDFB-S rebel was accompanied by another NDFB(S) cadre named Jewel Narzary alias Tamang but managed to escape. Further action is on.
