NEC Selected by Taj Group Hotels as a Preferred Network Solution Vendor

New Delhi : NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today that NEC India Pvt. Ltd. (Managing Director: Koji Oda; Corporate Office: New Delhi, India), a subsidiary of NEC, has been selected as a preferred vendor by The Indian Hotels Company Limited (Managing Director & CEO: Raymond Bickson, Headquarters: Mumbai, India), known as the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, one of Asia’s largest and finest hotel companies. In addition to its selection, NEC also received orders for IP telephone systems for another eight new hotels being constructed by the Taj Group this year in India.

The IP telephony system is based on NEC’s UNIVERGE SV8000 series communication server that supports voice, unified communications and mobility solutions.  The server is capable of supporting up to 16,000 endpoints in a single system and features scalable and energy-efficient solutions that are ideal for a wide variety of hotel needs.
