Newly-appointed Law Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday stressed the need for judicial reform but cautioned that it should be done through institutional dialogue and understanding.
He said appointments to the higher judiciary must be through transparent processes which ensure that persons of impeccable integrity and high competence are appointed to these positions.
Sibal succeeds Ashwani Kumar who resigned last week after being accused of interfering in the CBI’s status report to Supreme Court on its Coalgate investigation.
