NeighborWorks Housing Solutions Raises Over $181,00 at “Opening Doors, Changing Lives” Gala

NeighborWorks Housing Solutions the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, raised more than $181,000 during its recent “Opening Doors, Changing Lives” Gala, held at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy.

Proceeds from the gala will support the programs and services facilitated by NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, including rental assistance, emergency financial help, shelter and homelessness prevention, first-time homebuyer education and counseling, and construction and management of high-quality rental housing across southern Massachusetts.

The event was held in-person following CDC protocols.  There was a virtual event offered, allowing remote attendees to participate in a pared-down version of the gala and the silent auction.   In-person guests were treated to lively games during cocktail hour, including corn hole competitions, sponsored by East West Mortgage and Jay Davis Law Group, putt-putt, and a unique “Door” game, paying homage to NHS’s tagline “Opening Doors Changing Lives.”  In addition to the games, guests enjoyed a silent auction that featured vacations, high-end wine and spirits, and Patriots tickets, among other offerings.

The evening concluded with dinner, a compelling program, and raffles.  Attendees learned more about NHS and their work in the community by hearing about a client who went from shelter to homeownership thanks to the programs and staff at NHS.

The gala’s presenting sponsor was NEI General Contracting.   Founded in 1998, NEI has locations in Randolph, Massachusetts, and Ocoee, Florida.  NHS has enjoyed a strong partnership with NEI and has collaborated on numerous projects including The Sycamore on Main, 48 units of workforce housing in Brockton, with commercial space on the ground floor.

“We are proud to support NeighborWorks Housing Solutions,” said Josef Rettman, president of NEI General Contracting.  “The work they do for people in the community not only keeps people housed, but helps communities thrive.  We are happy to partner with NHS and are delighted to support their mission.”

We were absolutely blown away by the incredible support we received at this year’s gala,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, noting that the event was the most successful to date. “Thank you to everyone who joined us in-person and virtually and special gratitude is extended to our many event sponsors.  I would also like to thank our Board of Directors and our incredible staff, who worked tirelessly over the past year to continue to provide services throughout the pandemic.”
