Hyderabad: The Oakridge International School will be hosting the Hyderabad leg of the 2019 IC3 Regional Forum on 02 February 2019. The school/college representatives will receive an IC3 Regional Forum Counseling Level 1 for attending the IC3 Regional Forum.

With the evolving education system in Hyderabad, the city was a natural choice to host an education event of international prominence, given its rapid rise in economy and consumerism that ranked it amongst the top 10 Indian metros in a 2017 Ernst & Young report. The city is becoming a global destination for technology businesses and entrepreneurs according to the report, hence this also shows the need to attend the IC3 Regional Forum which will contribute in shaping the perspective on careers.

The IC3 Regional Forums are first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together career counselors, teachers, school principals and university admissions leaders. The IC3 Regional Forums are aligned with IC3’s mission to empower schools to build and maintain robust, well-resourced and research-oriented career and college counseling offices. The IC3 Regional Forums enable access for hundreds of schools that have limited resources for travel and training of their principals, teachers, and counselors. Key objectives of the IC3 Regional Forums are to bring inclusiveness, diversity and equality.

Mr. Ganesh Kohli, Founding President, IC3 Movement & Chair, 2019 IC3 Conference said, “Through the IC3 Regional Forums, we aim to sensitize leaders of educational institutions around the world to the need and criticality of a robust career and college counseling department. The goal is to develop the human resources and conduct necessary research that will be needed to deliver this function effectively in schools.”

30 IC3 Regional Forums are planned for January through May 2019 across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Hosted at local high schools, these one-day events provide an opportunity for learning and new knowledge creation along with networking where counselors, teachers, and principals from the local area interact with universities from across the globe.

Mr. Avneesh Singh, Director, Oakridge International School mentioned,  “We are glad to host the IC3 Regional Forum at our campus. It is really important that we guide our young students in their career path and understand their capabilities. We recognize that career development is a life-long process, the role of a career and college counselor helps prepare students in this ever changing dynamic world and shaping their perspective towards career”.
