  • The National Information and Cybersecurity Council (NICC)– which works to reduce risk to India’s cyber infrastructure – is leading a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise cybersecurity awareness nationally every October during the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM 2022).

Securing cyberspace is both a national and global challenge. The pandemic has further exacerbated this problem due to an exponential increase in online transactions and Work-from-Home environment. While we are more interconnected than ever before, the situation has provided the perfect storm for cyber criminals to target Individuals, Industry, Academia and Governments.

This campaign theme for 2022 – “See Yourself in Cyber” – will focus on the “people” part of cybersecurity, providing information and resources to help educate NICC partners and the public, and ensure all individuals and organizations make smart decisions whether on the job, at home, or at school – now and in the future.

Throughout October, National Information and Cybersecurity Council will highlight key action steps that everyone should take:

    • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
    • Use Strong Passwords
    • Recognize and Report Phishing
    • Update Your Software

India is one of the top cyber-attacked nations of the world. Influence Operations are also a clear and present danger. In order to achieve a “Whole-of-Nation” effort, National Information and Cybersecurity Council (NICC) requests everyone’s co-operation in giving a concerted push and focus on raising the cybersecurity awareness in your sphere of influence.

With a view to educate the public, private sector and increase the cyber resilience of the Nation, NICC conducts a plethora of events which include seminars, workshops, courses, phishing simulations, quiz contests, lectures, audio-visual presentations on best practices, social media hygiene, posters/leaflets etc… including in regional languages.

Individuals, organizations, businesses, government agencies, non-profits, associations, schools, and academic institutions that are interested in partnering with the NICC to promote these Cybersecurity Awareness campaigns can reach out to [email protected] or contact on: +91 9492003020
