    Hyderabad : Kolor Champ ’18, the India’s biggest competition on Creativity for kids in the age group of 4 to 15 years held here in the city at Shree Convention Centre at Kompally on Sunday

    The nationwide Art Competition was formally inaugurated by  the Chief Guest, Dr. G. Hari Shankar Prasad, Joint Director – NIFT, Hyderabad.

    Mr. Ajin Thong, Chief Operating Officer – Globalart & Creative, Malaysia; Mr. Dinesh Victor, MD SIP Academy and Ms. Namrata Mukherjee, Business Head of Global Art and Srinivas Head of Global Art in Telugu States graced as guest of honour.

    Speaking on the occasion Dr. G. Harishankar said discrete thinking, ability to think differently, distinctly, unrelatedly can not be replicated by computers. Hence we need human beings and human brains. Innovative thinking, expressive and design skills are prized skills that are required to drive future, he told the 850 participants.

    He told teachers, parents to prepare them for design domain.  Creative thinking, Design thinking are gaining lot of importance. And future belongs to those kids who are innovative and think differently he told the gathering.

    Kolor Champ is not just a drawing competition but it judges creative capabilities in the kids. It helps them think differently, innovatively, present ideas well and develop self confidence said Dinesh Victor, MD of SIP Academy

    Addressing the gathering Ajin Thong, Chief Operating Officer – Globalart & Creative, Malaysia said the competition is a celebration of Art.

    The theme of the competition was “My  Super Hero”.

    The dignitaries also unveiled competition sheet to commence the one and half hour competition. The time of the competition varied from category to category.

    Before the beginning of the competition, the organisers encouraged the children to believe “I am the best”.

    Over 850 kids from 7 states participated in the competition. This was  Globalart India’s 12th National Competition and the biggest ever competition on Creativity for the kids . Kolor Champ ’18  is an annual affair held each year in different states across the country.

    This event is not yet another regular drawing competition. The event aimed at persuading the children to express their thoughts through drawing. And, it’s important that children are allowed to express their perceptions and such ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking would instil in them self-esteem and confidence adds Namrata Mukherjee, Business Head of Global Art.

    “Creativity is a critical tool for success in today’s world. With creativity honed in the early stages of life, these children who are the citizens of tomorrow will be better equipped to find innovative solutions to various complex issues in a highly competitive world”, said Dinesh Victor, Managing Director, SIP Academy India.

    Creativity is the only skill humans have a monopoly on as even supercomputers cannot match the human capability of creative thinking! Creativity is a critical life skill and will always be in demand, regardless of what field one works in says Dinesh. Today, creativity is rated as one of the most important skills that one needs to cultivate to be able to navigate life successfully.  Kolor Champ ’18 is the competition to judge creative talent in the kids. And it is only of its kind program in the country.

    SIP Academy India which has been running world class programmes for skill development for children since 2003 launched Globalart program in the year 2005.

    Nearly 55000 children have gone through this program and 8000 attend Globalart classes every week across country in over 130 centres.  Globally this program is run in 17 countries and trained 2,75,000 children in the age group of 4 to 15years.

    Globalart has a systematic and structured curriculum which is aimed to develop the creative potential of children using art. The program helps children explore, express and create independently.
