NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant termed the financial stimulus and reforms under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan as pathbreaking. He said, the current government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has ushered in the sectoral reforms which were long pending. He added that the previous governments had no strong will to bring in the reforms, which were long due. He welcomed the announcement of relief packages by Finance Minister.

The CEO also said that the economy should be allowed to revive in the fourth phase of lockdown. He however maintained that all measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 should be ensured.

Former Director General, DRDO and NITI Aayog member V K Saraswat speaking exclusively to AIR News said, systemic measures introduced by Government will bring long lasting changes.

He added, government has already handed out immediate financial assistance to workers under Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojana, but emphasised the need of long term measures for sustenance of the daily workers and migrant labourers. He also said that the economic activities should be allowed in the fourth phase of lockdown.
