NMIMS, a fully integrated Deemed University, is now expanding into Bengaluru, with a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs of high quality and rigour. This can serve the needs of the Southern States while maintaining the diversity across regions as far as student intake goes. In particular, the UG programs like B.Sc. Finance and B.Sc. in Applied Statistics/Analytics, as well as Data Science at NMIMS Bengaluru, are unique, and industry-relevant.

Expanding the horizon further, NMIMS Bengaluru Campus is in the process of signing af Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thunderbird (Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University) United States, for a dual degree program which the MBA students can pursue after their first year at NMIMS Bengaluru. Second-year credits can be completed at Thunderbird, United States.

Speaking at the Convocation ceremony Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS, said, “Our Bengaluru campus will soon have an agreement with Thunderbird. The MoU is in process and is in its final stages. We are also seeking more international collaborations like this in the near future. We are already a part of the Exchange programs for short-term exchange or higher studies with several international universities through our Mumbai office of International Linkages.”

I always vouch for work-life integration than a work-life balance. This way, you will be able to attain a better harmony. You should also always live by integrity, which is like the foundation of a 200-storey building. In everything that you do, be passionate. We should always be willing to unlearn to learn and learn to unlearn said Ms. Meenakshi Srinivasan, Director Partner, Glogal DevSeeOps Practice, IBM Consulting.

Karnataka state and the Eastern Corridor comprising other states are expected to benefit from these well-trained students, both MBA and BBA, B.Com., B.Sc. Economics and others. NMIMS’ curriculum suits the best and is linked directly with the potential job market. As a major advantage, NMIMS produces well-trained manpower which reduces training costs for industry and employers.

In a bid to meet the increased industry demand further, NMIMS is expanding overall intake capacity along with the faculty strength exponentially in the next two-three years.

Dr. Ramesh Bhat  further added, “The MBA program at NMIMS Bengaluru Campus offers an Analytics specialisation, which started keeping in mind the Bengaluru market as a hub for higher education for students from the southern and eastern part of the country which makes the city as the “Eastern Education Corridor”. Bengaluru city is also unique for industries led by information technology. In the MBA program, we have been consistent with 100 percent placement for the 11th year in succession.  A few prominent recruiters this year were VMware, Dell, Accenture, ICICI Bank, HSBC, E&Y, KPMG, JP Morgan, Britannia and MTR.  The average salary this year was Rs. 11.8 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered being Rs 19.6 lakhs per annum for students in the MBA Program.”

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar, Director, NMIMS Bengaluru Campus, said, “We have set a benchmark in higher education which has been followed up by other leading institutes in the similar business. In a bid to provide the best and updated education to students, we continue to upgrade our curriculum in sync with the latest trend in the corporate world, and suit the demand by bringing the best business minds and academicians together. Our MBA curriculum undergoes a complete revision every three years. Currently, one such revision is in progress. NMIMS Bengaluru hosted a Corporate Connect event as recent as last month (March 2022) to get feedback on the Future-ready MBA Curriculum. Many useful suggestions about the course content and pedagogy have been received. Our alumni of the Executive Program (running since 2008) always help us with a great industry connection and valuable suggestions.”
