Mumbai: SVKM’s NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) one of the leading Deemed-to-be Universities of India celebrated the ‘19^th University Day’ on January 13, 2022. The program was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar and Dr. Meena Chintamaneni. Mr. Vikram Jaisinghani, Managing Director & CEO of Adani Logistics Ltd. and proud alumnus of NMIMS MBA 1989 batch was the chief guest for the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University said, “Each year 13^th January marks an important day for us. It is the day we jointly recognise and celebrate the collective efforts of our founders, teachers, students, and everyone who has been associated with NMIMS and helped us to bring the institute to the pinnacle of educational excellence. NMIMS has always been creating future-ready curriculum best suited for our students so that they are equipped to face the world given their exposure at our institute.”

NMIMS alumnus and Managing Director & CEO of Adani Logistics Ltd, Mr. Vikram Jaisinghani, sharing fond memories of his MBA days, said, “I am highly honoured and proud to be a part of this esteemed institute which stands as the custodian and a blazing trendsetter in management education. Today, NMIMS is a shining example of educational excellence. As the institution celebrates 19^th University Day, I would extend my congratulations and heartiest gratitude towards all the stalwarts of the past four decades for making NMIMS what it is today. NMIMS has been an inimitable and pivotal part of me and my growth. The learnings here have helped shape me into my present self. The university taught me to be a life-long learner.”

Mr. Jaisinghani further paid his tributes to the late Dr. Y.K. Bhushan who was the first Director of the institute and channelled the success of numerous students.

On this auspicious occasion, NMIMS took a quantum leap towards being a future-ready university by launching two dynamic publications: ‘NMIMS Management Review’, and ‘We Care Anthology 2022’. NMIMS Management Review is a highly acclaimed published official research journal which is now listed in Cabell’s International, Emerging Sources Citation Index, Web of Science and Google Scholar amongst a few others. The journal encapsulates notions from business, commerce, economics, healthcare, and management. The review is circulated with the aim to foster thought leadership and research on contemporary business and management practices and build a holistic community that encourages the diffusion of new innovative ideas and insights.

On the other hand, We Care Anthology 2022 is collection of series of articles that map the distress on various aspects of human life created by the Covid-19 pandemic, showcases the inspiring array of efforts undertaken by NGOs to build resilience and embrace the emergence of a new era – the “next to normal.” The Anthology intents to inspire the readers to contribute their bit towards building a better world.

Furthermore, as part of the occasion, the management commemorated the astounding contributions of the staff member with staff awards ceremony. Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar called upon the winners of Best staff awards from each department. Silver jubilee trophies were given to staff members who completed 25 years with the institution.
