Normal life remained affected in Puducherry with rain continuing unabated 
Official sources said that ending 8.30 a.m. on Monday Puducherry and its suburban areas recorded 4 cm rainfall.
All schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal regions remained closed for the fifth day in succession.
Chief Minister V Vaithilingam had told presspersons on Sunday that a detailed report on extent of damage in the rains in Puducherry and Karaikal regions was being prepared and it would be sent to the Home Ministry for assistance.
