North India reels under schorching heat wave

hh7Intense heat wave is sweeping several parts of the country as Delhiites reeled under a scorching 43.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday , the highest temperature for the season yet, and it is likely to get worse in the coming days.

The day temperature was four notches above normal while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius.

Entire Rajasthan is in grip of severe heat wave. Churu is the hottest place in the state where maximum temperature was recorded at 48.5 degree Celsius on Saturday.

The severe heat wave conditions in various districts of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra has further aggravated.

Nagpur city recorded the maximum temperature of 47 degrees Celsius on Saturday which was also the highest maximum temperature in the region for the day.

Met office reports that the heat wave conditions are expected to continue in the region for the next couple of days.

In Uttar Pradesh the day’s maximum temperature is ranging above 40 degrees with Allahabad simmering at 44.8 degrees.

Normal life was affected in Punjab and Haryana as heat wave conditions intensified in the region.

Hisar in Haryana was the hottest with a maximum of 46 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum of 44.4 degrees, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded 44.3 and 43.5 degrees Celsius.

Met department said the condition will continue to prevail over next couple of days.
