Jorhat : Besides Borpatra Ali unique initiative by a three member ex-JSian cum environmentalists from Jorhat did not wait for the Forest or Administration to fill up the vacant area where laid a huge banyan tree just in front of the J B College besides the historic Borpatra Ali which had to be chopped off during road extension,  though various controversies arose not to cut the tree by several numbers of environmentalists and organizations as the tree gives immense pleasure, happiness to sit and chat but not only gives shed, pure air but also the seeds of the tree feeds over 100 of birds every day, said Jogesh Oja, an ex-JBian during the plantation drive hour here today.

Jogesh Oja said basically over hundreds and thousands Ex and present JBian feels nostalgic over the absence of the huge historic banyan tree that surrounded the opposite portion of our college where each one of us have a vast memory that lies under this grandfather age old banyan tree. It still appears in our memory before we come to the college after we go home.

We three of us ex-JBian decided to plant a healthy banyan tree along with Krishnachura, Neem which will bring back our memories and will further beautify the area between the historic JB College and the Court building. So we have done it on this very special occasion of World Environment Day to stabilize and to keep the air pure and save earth in this hour of global climatic change, said Mitu Sharma and Pranab Gogoi after the plantation drive.
