Haflong : A team of officials of the 6th Assam State Finance Commission led by the chairperson T Y Das, IAS(Rtd) and former chief secretary to Govt of Assam held a meeting with the officers of the NCHAC in presence of Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, NCHAC at CEM’s Conference Hall, NCHAC Haflong today.

The meeting was in the Terms of Reference of the Sixth Assam State Finance Commission and other related issues of the local bodies which was attended by the NCHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa, executive members Ngamrothang Hmar, Nipolal Hojai, Paudeming Newme , members of Autonomous Council, Amitabh Rajkhowa and Mukut Kemprai, principal secretaries of transfer and normal respectively.

Discussions with the officers of line departments, BDOs, chairpersons, executive officers and officials of ULBs was done in which various infrastructure developmental activities to be undertaken within the financial year 2019-20 was discussed.

On enquiry, the officials of the finance commission advised the council to fulfill all the required questionnaires put forward by the office of the 6th ASFC so as to avoid any delay in completion of the projects that might have been a hindrance in flow of budget so far.

Discussion was made regarding the intricacies of the electoral roll for the village council and other related matters which the council representatives stated should be in favour of this hills district. They also discussed about various development initiatives that can be taken up by various town committees such as Maibang, Umrangso and Mahur and Haflong Municipal Board.

Council secretaries, officials of the town committees and municipal board, officers from PWD , PHE, Revenue dept etc also attended the meeting.
