  • Omega Healthcare signs MoU with IIIT-Bangalore to boost research in Artificial Intelligence

    Bengaluru: Omega Healthcare Management Services Pvt. Ltd. signs an MoU with International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) to boost research in the field of Data Science, a field of AI.

    The Agreement will comprise of research programs in AI and Data Science, aiming to focus on specific business-related processes along with expected outcomes, with the program being collectively decided by both the organizations. This collaboration is aimed at building industry-grade AI engines that can be embedded as part of Omega’s SMART business solutions to solve healthcare business challenges.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gopi Natarajan, CEO, Omega Healthcare said, “This is a great opportunity for Omega Healthcare to collaborate with IIIT-B for research in AI to solve healthcare-specific business processes. It will augment our position as an active adopter of technology and solutions in the healthcare space. With this partnership we also aim to further the use of the latest technology, innovate through relevant research, and create market-leading solutions.”

    Mr. Siva Kolisetti, SVP – Technology, Omega Healthcare said, “The healthcare ecosystem is one with volumes of disparate data and the potential for innovating solutions is tremendous. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has no doubt triggered a rapid evolution in this healthcare ecosystem. To cope with this evolution there is a corresponding demand for expertise and skills, and our collaboration with IIIT-B could not have come at a better time. Through this engagement we aim to not only develop applications to manage this stash of data, but also provide in-depth analytics.”

    Professor G Srinivasaraghavan, IIIT-Bangalore said, “The industry has the necessary business process expertise and data while academia has the relevant science and technology expertise. This MoU will help our students build on their technical proficiency in AI and Data Science and develop advanced solutions and applications. Thus a collaboration of this kind will be mutually beneficial to both the parties.
