  • OMRON Healthcare to expand in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

    HyderabadOMRON healthcare India, a global leader in digital blood pressure monitoring domain today said it plans to expand its reach in Telangana beyond the tier-I cities as part of its vision to strengthen the availability and practice of home healthcare monitoring to help create a ‘Zero Events’ society (no incidence of heart attacks & brain strokes via provision of quality medical devices to Indian society like digital blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, thermometers, nerve stimulators, body fat monitors, weighing scales, etc.)

    OMRON has charted a plan to reach Tier-II and Tier-III cities like Warangal, Gulbarga, Raichur, etc. by expanding retail network in the states to 250-300.

    As per varied studies, high blood pressure or hypertension is one of the most common causes for sudden heart attack. Out of 300 million hypertensive people, around 50 per cent of people don’t get themselves diagnosed, 30 per cent of them only go for an actual check-up and a miniscule population of just 20 per cent has its BP under control.

    In Hyderabad, OMRON has a market share of 44 per cent in the digital blood pressure monitoring domain, which they aim to further strengthen. South India contributes to almost 30 per cent of OMRON’s sales which they plan to escalate to 40 per cent in FY 2021-22

    OMRON emphasizes on the fact that they are the only brand in country offering such a wide range of home monitoring devices, which also makes them the preferred choice of brand with almost 54 per cent market share in the digital BP monitoring segment across the country as its advanced sensing technology ensures safety and accuracy through advanced IntelliSense and IntelliWrap technology.

    All the products of OMRON are clinically validated according to the standards of Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Standard (AAMI) and/or European Society of Hypertension International Protocol (ESH).

    With the expansion here, OMRON aims for a turnover of Rs 221 Cr in FY 21-22 which is a 10 per cent hike over the previous year.

    The company has also been paying significant attention towards its marketing  & communications strategy that comprises of TV Commercials and digital exposures across the country for a period of 12 months to create awareness about home BP monitoring and nebulization.
