In Punjab, the Government agencies and private millers have procured 2,01,593.5 metric tonnes of Paddy till October 8th. An official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 2,01,593.5 MT of paddy from various procurement centers in the State, the Government agencies procured 1,87,841.5 MT of paddy while 13,752 MT have been procured by the millers.

The spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 50631 tonnes, MARKFED procured 48419.5 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 42957 tonnes . Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 20497 and 24764 MT paddy respectively. The Central Government agency FCI has procured 573 MT paddy.
