  • Over 450 Indians airlifted from Iran and Italy today

    A fresh batch of 236 Indian nationals evacuated from Iran have reached Jaisalmer this morning onboard two Air India aircraft. All these people have been kept in a wellness center operated by the army after a medical check-up.

    Defense spokesperson Colonel Sambit Ghosh said they were tested negative for coronavirus in Iran. Their health will be monitored for at least 14 days by placing them at the wellness centers set up by the army in Jaisalmer.

    Colonel Ghosh said that the Indian Army has also set up a wellness center in Jodhpur. He added that Awareness campaigns are being undertaken to educate the people about COVID-19.

    A total of 218 Indians, including 211 students, stranded in coronavirus-hit Italy arrived in India this morning onboard an Air India flight from Milan. Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan said all of them will be quarantined for two weeks.
