Islamabad: In Pakistan, the death toll in the suicide attack inside the crowded Sufi shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sindh has risen to 75. More than 200 people are injured.

A bomber had entered the shrine yesterday and first threw a grenade, which failed to explode. He, then, blew himself up near the site where the ritual of sufi dance was taking place. Hundreds of devotees were present inside the premises at the time of the blast.

The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the blast. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and urged Pakistan to stand united. Meanwhile, at least four policemen were killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their van in Dera Ismail Khan district.

The incident occurred late last night in the district which lies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Nearly 100 people have lost their lives in separate attacks in the country in a week of violence.
