  • PDS scam case, Apang remanded in judicial custody

    Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has been remanded in judicial custody for two days by a special sessions court in connection with the multi-crore PDS scam case.

    Apang, who ruled the state for 23 years in two phases as Congress leader, was arrested on 24th August for his alleged involvement in the scam.

    He was remanded in police custody for 14 days which expired on Monday.

    The additional judge of the special sessions court at Lakhimpur shifted him to judicial custody on Monday.

    While in judicial remand the Special Investigating Cell (SIC) will interrogate Apang as the medical board constituted by the state government to examine Apang declared him fit for giving statement.

    The investigating agency also interrogated him on Monday under medical supervision
