Peabody Properties Hosts 4th Annual Pynchon/Edgewater Community Resource Fair

 Peabody Properties , an affiliate of The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, recently hosted its 4th Annual Resource Fair at the Pynchon/Edgewater community parking lot at 101 Lowell Street in Springfield.

The well-attended June 7th event – the first since the pandemic – allowed residents of the Pynchon/Edgewater apartments and members of the neighborhood to explore various community resources, including the PRSI Home Care Program (GAFC), Springfield Police C3 Unit and Special Victim Unit, New North Citizens Council, which provided an onsite COVID-19 vaccination clinic, NNCC Department of Youth Services, Baystate Wellness on Wheels “WOW” Bus, which provided onsite blood pressure screenings/and free COVID testing Kits, the Springfield Fire Department “Fire Prevention Unit,” Springfield Technical Community College, The Food Bank of Western Mass, Tapestry Health/WIC Program, Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club, The Hispanic American Library, and the YWCA of Western Mass, among other agencies from the community. 

The following community members and partners were recognized during the event for their endless support to the Pynchon and Edgewater Community: Jose Claudio of New North Citizens Council; Milagros Teresa Rodriguez of New North Citizens Council; Officer Jose Silva from the Springfield Police/North End C3 Unit; and Officer Manuel Ayala from the Springfield Police/North End C3 Unit.

“The Pynchon Edgewater Community Fair and Resident BBQ that was recently hosted at Edgewater was a success, with great turnout from residents and community agencies,” said Jose Claudio from New North Citizen Council in Springfield.  “Thank you to Pynchon Terrace and Edgewater Apartments staff and owners for making this amazing community event every year.”

“The main purpose of this important event is to continue to make our residents aware of the many resources available to them in the community,” said Adam Kenney, executive vice president of operations at Peabody Properties. “We’re grateful to all who provided information and services and to those from our Pynchon/Edgewater community and neighborhood who attended.”
