BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Additional deputy commissioner Dabeswar Bora, Kokajhar Labour Officer  H Kalita, Kokrajhar Inspector of School Jagadish Brahma were among those participated in the programme.

Speaking on the ocassion, BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary said the pension scheme will go a long way in ensuring financial security to large number of people engaged in unorganized sector. He said that the scheme will provide security not only to the workers but to their families too. He stressed on the need to create mass awareness about this scheme so that a large number of people get benefit from it.

Under the scheme, workers of the unorganized sector will receive a minimum assured pension of three thousand rupees per month after attaining the age of 60 years. The workers whose monthly income is 15 thousand rupees per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18 to 40 years are eligible for the scheme.
