Guwahati : A combined team of 43 Assam Rifles and Moreh CDOs apprehended a self-styled second lieutenant of PREPAK (Pro) from near Indo-Myanmar border on Friday around 10 am. The apprehended UG cadre has been identified as Aheibam Ravi alias Newton (31), son of late Aheibam Mangi of Wangjing Awang Leikai. He has been handed over to Moreh police station for further legal actions.Police said that A combined team of Moreh police commandos and 43 Assam Rifles led by Major Rajiv apprehended a cadre of People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, PREPAK (Pro) from the Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh on Friday August 23. The apprehended PREPAK militant has been identified as self-styled 2nd Lt Ravi alias Newton (aged 31), a resident of Wangjing in Thoubal district of Manipur. The nabbed cadre disclosed to security forces that he joined the militant group (PrePak) on 7 April, 2007 through a local contact named Shekhar. He undewent Training at different places such as Kaibul Lamjao, Bishnupur, and moved to Naungkhet, Myanmar in 2009. Thereafter, he moved to Senam in Myanmar, in 2016. He also disclosed that was working under Self-Styled Col Rakesh who is stationed at Kaleymo in Myanmar.
