New Delhi : Peru wins big at International Award ceremonies across the world, proving once again that the South American country is one of the preferred tourism destinations for travellers from different segments. 

PROMPERU is proud to announce that Peru has been awarded three important distinctions at the global edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA), winning the titles of World’s Leading Culinary Destination 2021, World’s Leading Cultural Destination 2021 and World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2021 for Machu Picchu. To these distinctions, Peru is also honored to have received the title of Best River Cruise Destination in the World 2021, at the recently concluded World Cruise Awards this year.

It is equally heartening to see that the destination’s commitment towards achieving sustainability in the industry has also translated into the adoption of responsible practices by private companies. The title of World’s Leading Green Tour Operator 2021 awarded to one of the Peruvian operators at WTA is demonstrative of this commitment.  

Peru, as a destination, was a finalist in the category of World’s Leading Green Destination 2021 and World’s Leading Cruise Destination 2021. Last but not the least, PROMPERU was a finalist for the award of World’s Leading Tourist Board 2021.
