Petrol price has been hiked by 2 rupees 21 paise per litre and diesel by one rupee 79 paise excluding State levies. Now, petrol will cost 68 rupees 94 paise a litre in Delhi, 71 rupees 50 paise in Kolkata, 75 rupees 27 paise in Mumbai and 68 rupees 41 paise in Chennai. For diesel, the consumer will have to pay 56 rupees 68 paise per litre in Delhi, 58 rupees 92 paise in Kolkata, 62 rupees 40 paise in Mumbai and 58 rupees 28 paise in Chennai. In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation said, the hike in the international prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of Petrol and Diesel.
