Haflong  :People of Haflong including students’ organisation like Dimasa Students Union (DSU) while expressing concern over the dumping of trash by the Picnickers and tourists at Jatinga appealed not to litter the most attractive tourist spot of the district by dumping trash haphazardly.

The Dimasa Students Union (DSU) which has been cleaning the trash at Jatinga every after  two or three months has launched a cleanliness drive at Jatinga on Sunday and collected huge quantity of trash in the form of glass and plastic bottles from the bank of the River. In the process of cleaning few students sustained injuries due to broken glass bottles.

Pramith Sengyung, General Secretary, DSU talking to this correspondent said our people should be more sensible in this matter. ‘We have been appealing since long all the Picnickers and tourists not to litter this beautiful and famous tourist spot by dumping trash haphazardly rather they can keep all the trash in selective places or they can take away with them’. Sengyung requested all the people not to disturb the Mother Nature otherwise we are bound to suffer in future. Therefore we should pledge to keep neat and clean and not disturb the Mother Nature any more.
