Guwahati : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the 18th convocation of Tezpur University in Assam through video conferencing. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was also present in the event. Addressing the convocation, the Prime Minister said that today is a life-long remembrance moment for more than 1200 students. Referring to the Indian team, he said that the players continued the battle despite being injured and created history in Australia.

On corona vaccine, the prime minister said that today India is giving confidence to many countries in the world with a protective shield. He said the largest vaccination campaign is going on in India. Addressing the convocation, PM Modi praised Team India and termed team India’s victory in Australia as historic. PM Modi said, “Team India’s sports in Australia is a great example of a change in attitude. Even after losing the first Test, he continued to fight. Even after being injured, they struggled to win and find a way out. Some players may be less experienced, but their bravery was not diminished. He made history in Australia.

“The self-reliant India campaign during the Corona period has become an integral part of our vocabulary,” Modi said. He’s got dissolved inside us. Our effort, our resolve, our accomplishment, our efforts, all these things we are feeling around us. PM Modi or even said that the way our government is engaged in the development of North East today, the way connectivity, education and health are working in every sector, are creating many new possibilities for you. Take full advantage of these possibilities. The prime minister said, “Today you are happy to win, I am also happy. I have as much faith in you as you are today. I am sure what you have learnt while living in Tezpur will give a new height to the progress of Assam and the country. There are many reasons for this trust. Firstly, the historical place of Tezpur, the inspiration from its mythological history, the second work you are doing at Tezpur University, I am told that it arouses great enthusiasm and the third is the full-breaking faith of the entire country, not just me, on their efforts to build a nation on the capabilities of the people of eastern India, the youth. He said that the spirit contained in the university anthem, which has been sung before awarding the award and medal, salutes the great history of Tezpur.

I want to repeat a few lines because it is written by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika ji, the Gaurav Bharat Ratna of Assam. He wrote: “Agni Gadar architecture, Kalia Bhomara Sethu Construction Gyan Jyotirmoy, se in the place of Virajise Tezpur University. “That is, where there is an architecture like agni Gad, the Kolibhomara Bridge, where there is a light of knowledge, sits in such a place as Tezpur University. In these three lines, Bhupen da has described how much. The prince of Agnigarh, Aniruddha, Princess Usha, the history associated with Lord Krishna, the vision of the great Ahom Knight Kalibhomora, the repository of knowledge, is the inspiration of Tezpur. The Prime Minister quoted a few lines: “Aggadar Architecture, Kalibhomorar Bridge Construction, Gyan Jyotirmoy, Sehi Sahi Sthante Birajise Tezpur University” The Prime Minister said that the next 25-26 years are important for him as well as his country and expressed hope that students will take the country to new heights.
