
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched various developmental projects and flagged off new train services in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Mr Modi launched the PM SVANidhi Credit Card and disbursed PM SVANidhi loans to one lakh beneficiaries. Mr Modi also flagged off four new train services, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train.
In addition, he laid the foundation stone for a CSIR-NIIST Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub. Besides these, he laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Radiosurgery Centre at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in the city and inaugurated the new Poojappura Head Post Office.
Addressing a gathering in Thiruvananthapuram, PM Modi said, the entire nation is working cohesively towards the aim of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and that cities have a big role to play in ‘Viksit Bharat’. He added that the central government have been investing a lot in urban infrastructure over the last 11 years.
Referring to the reforms in income tax rates, the Prime Minister said that the middle-class people in Kerala also got the benefits of income tax exemption. The Central Government is making tremendous efforts to provide banking services to grass roort level. This helped them to get bank loans very easily.
Prime Minister said that PM SVANidhi scheme was conceived by the government to make the lives of people comfortable, including roadside vendors. He added that street vendors are getting credit cards, which were only with rich people in the past.
