  • PM Modi leaves for Russia to attend 5th EEF summit

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Russia on a three-day official visit. He will attend the 5th Eastern Economic Forum summit in Vladivostok.

    Mr Modi will be the Chief Guest at the summit. He will also take part in the 20th annual summit between Russia and India.

    Before his departure, the Prime Minister in a series of tweets stated that he is looking forward to holding extensive talks with President Putin, aimed at strengthening the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.

    During his visit, Mr Modi said he would release a special stamp to commemorate Gandhi Ji’s 150th Jayanti celebrations.

    An innovative App to popularise Yoga would also be inaugurated. Mr Modi said he has more Russian sisters and brothers to make Yoga an integral part of their routine.

    The Prime Minister also tweeted that he would visit Zvezda ship-building complex in Vladivostok. He said the visit would present a great opportunity to learn about Russia’s exemplary capabilities in the ship-building sector as well as explore possibilities of cooperation in this area.
