  • PM Modi praises Assam entrepreneur, says inspiration for young generation

    Guwahati : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the initiative of one Hemendra Chandra Das, an entrepreneur from Assam, during an interaction with the young innovators and start-up entrepreneurs from across the country, through video conferencing. Das heads the start-up company ‘Innotech Interactions Private Limited’. He is working on a technology to treat the water wasted during the refining of the crude oil and it is based on the electro-biochemical system. The technology also won the Indo-Israel Innovative Challenge, an al-India contest. “Yours is an example of how the young generation can generate ideas and transform the nation through new technology,” said Modi to Das during the interaction. A total of 35 start-up entrepreneurs interacted with Modi through video conference at the office of Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal. As per data shared by the Prime Minister Office, about 44 per cent of the startups registered are from tier-II and tier-III cities. In addition, 45 per cent of the startups has been set up by women since 2016 under the Startup India initiative.
