Prime Minister Narendra Modi today categorically rejected any scope for third party mediation between India and Pakistan on Kashmir, saying the two countries can discuss and resolve all issues bilaterally.

Prime Minister Modi made these remarks while interacting with the media alongside US President Donald Trump after their bilaetral talks on the sidelines of the G7 summit in the French town of Biarritz.

Prime Minister said he was confident that the two neighbours can discuss their problems and solve them. Noting that during his telephonic conversations with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the recent past, he told him that there were poverty and many other issues confronting both countries and the nations should work together for the welfare of their people.

US President Donald trump today said that the Kashmir issue is a bilateral issue and both countries should talk to each other to solve this. He said he feels that both India and Pakistan can resolve it.

Briefing about the talks foreign secretary Vijay Gokhle said that there were No talks on Kashmir between Prime Minister Modi and Donald Trump. He said that No discussion on kashmir was done with British PM Boris Johnson also. He said that talks with UNSG António Guterres were primarily focused on climate change.
