Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held discussions with eminent economists and experts on the state of economy of the country at National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog.

The meet is said to have a focus on finding ways to boost economy as the government prepares to present the General Budget later this month.

The first meeting of the Governing Council of the Niti Aayog has been convened by the Prime Minister on last Sunday.

The Governing Council of NITI Aayog comprises state chief ministers and Lieutenant Governors of all union territories.

It aims to ensure synergy between efforts at different levels of government and emergence of a shared national development framework.
