Potli Arts invites to an exclusive previewof its Annual Tribal and Folk Art & Craft Exhibition and Sale.
Potli Arts revives, curates and promotesoriginal works of the multi faceted Indian Folk, Tribal Artist and handloomweaver from the “ Roots of India”.
The Exhibition will showcase PotliArtscollection of over 100 paintings, curated and original work based on research.Subjects include Indian Deities, Symbols, Bhitti Chitras (wall paintings),Nature, Mythology, original styles of art.
Potli Arts will also feature arte facts, masks,bags and handmade weaves including saris, stoles, shawls, fabrics, furnishings.
A highlight of the Exhibition themyriad talent of historian Rta Kapur Chishti,Textile Historian and Authority on Heritage Handlooms,(Rta’sbook on the Sari, Tradition and Beyond was highly acclaimed by Time magazine).We have also attempted to revive new textile categories with Rta.
PotliArts will be showcasing for the first time in Mumbai,Pepe Zalba, Spanish curator working on Shantiniketanbatik from Tagore’s home Shantiniketan!The colors and blends by the Batik artists of Shantiniketan are breathtaking.Eachunique in itsappeal.
PotliArts has alsoinvitedBerozegar Mahila Kalyan Sanstha (BMKS) from Bhagalpur, Bihar for their earthy handmadeTussar silks.
Also Ritu Chandwani, founder of Potli Arts would beavailable with the above mentioned well-known people for interactions.
The Exhibition is well worth awalk down the rich textile heritage lane of India.
