  • Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival 2022 (PQFF 2022): ‘The Argumen’ Best Movie, Anand Madathil and Vysakh, Best Director.

    Thiruvananthapuram : The Argumen, directed by Ernest George- UST won the Best Film Award at Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival 2022 (PQFF 2022), the largest short film festival for IT employees. Anand Madathil and Vysakh (NGA HR Pvt Ltd) were selected as the best directors for their film ‘Tangle the Endless’. ‘Kharkharam‘ Directed by Abhilash Anirudh was selected as the second best film. In addition to the employees of the prominent IT parks of Kerala like Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark, IT professionals from across India took part in the film festival.

    Devadas (Byju’s Learning App) won the Best Editor for ‘Podimeesa Mulakkana Kalam’. The award for the best script went to Earnest George and Rohit Reji from UST for their movie ‘The Argumen‘. The Best Actor (Male) was awarded to Sidhartha Siva for the movie ‘Kharkharam’, and Saranya Jithesh was awarded the Best Actor (Female) for the movie ‘Rahasyam’. The best Cinematography Award was given to Tony Joseph for the film ‘Mask’. Special Jury mention (Acting) went to Meera Nair for the film ‘Mareechika’. Along with the award, a cash prize of Rs.11,111 was given to the best short film and a cash prize of Rs.5555 was awarded to the Second Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenwriter. Apart from this, special awards were also given to the Best Actor, Best Actress, Cinematographer, and Editor.

    The screening of the films was held at the Travancore Hall in Technopark. A total of 19 films competed in the competition category. The Jury Chairperson was Deepika Susheelan who was also the Artistic Director and Film Curator of the 27th International Film Festival. Renowned Director and Screenwriter Don Palathara, Film Critic Dr.Sheeba Kurian were also part of the jury. Renowned Film Critic, M.F. Thomas presented the awards.

    The award ceremony was presided over by Muhammad Aneesh, Prathidhwani Film Festival Director. Aswin M.C, Prathidhwani Film Club Convener delivered the inaugural speech while Ajith Anirudhan, Prathidhwani Executive Member delivered the vote of thanks, and Rajeev Krishnan, State Coordinator also attended the event.
