  • Pratilipi Conclave Concludes with excitement and Ideas

    Guwahati :   The three day event ‘Pratilipi Conclave’ concluded at Tezpur amidst excitement and newer ideas to explore in the future, as several prominent personalities including politicians, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs and intellectuals addressed the event on a range of subjects. The three day event was held on April 6-8 at Tezpur, and had a range of attractions The “Pratilipi Conclave” has been conceived by the Guwahati based Jyoti Enterprises and Communications, a news and media organization, as a platform to communicate, network and explore ideas and innovations in various sectors. “This was the first edition of “Pratilipi Conclave” and we tried to make it multi-dimensional and invited people from all sectors and sections of the society, and it was encouraging to see the positive response,” said Sabita Devi, Convener of the Conclave. The theme for the Conclave was ‘Lessons from the past and ideas for the future’ The event was supported by the Assam State Bio-diversity board, Government of Assam, Humanitarian Aid International, a Global Indian Organization working on various issues, and was organized in partnership with INECC, a national network of organisations and individuals, Yoreh Studios, which is a Guwahati based production house, and the Tezpur based Green Hub. The three day event was addressed by several prominent personalities in various fields, which included Prithiraj Rabha, Tezpur MLA, Dhananjay Ghanawat, Sonitpur District Superintendent of Police, Hemanta Lahkar, prominent businessman based at Tezpur, Neetu Kakoti, entrepreneur, Sandhani Dutta Kalita, assistant professor, LGB Girls College among others. Speaking at the event, Rabha said that the Tezpur town has huge potential for tourism but still lacks the required infrastructure, and called for active participation of the local people for the Sonitpur district’s development.

     Dhananjay Ghanawat spoke about the role of the civil society and also stressed that the civil society has an important role to play for the development of a place. In the session on Entrepreneurship, Lahkar talked about requirement of hard-work, patience and vision for business. “It was an event to share ideas, network, communicate and explore, and many individual and organizations working in different fields were able to connect and explore new ideas and partnerships,” said Devi. The event also saw good footfall in the event’s attraction- a Photo Exhibition and Film screening, and a platform showcasing local business brands. Films were screened during the course of the Conclave and interactions were held with film-makers and representatives of production houses. The photo exhibition, titled- from Green to Greenery, was a platform for young photographers to showcase their photographs. “It is an excellent platform to exhibit our photographs, and people visited the exhibition and saw our photographs,” said Bhaben Medhi, whose photographs were displayed. “This is an excellent initiative, and apart from the photo exhibition giving an opportunity to young photographers, it also helped spread the message about environment and conservation,” said Nabin Lahkar, a retired teacher, who is also a renowned author.
