Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their 37th Statehood Day. Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram were granted statehood on February 20, 1987. Describing Arunachal Pradesh as synonymous with dynamism and patriotism, Modi lauded the people of the state for contributing to the country’s progress in several fields.
Meanwhile, President of India Draupadi Murmu said on February 20 that the people of Arunachal Pradesh have made their own identity and are now being known across the country. He said this while addressing the 37th Foundation Day celebrations of Arunachal Pradesh and participated in a civic reception organised in his honour by the state government in Itanagar town of the state.Murmu further said that this is her first visit to Arunachal Pradesh and she is grateful for the love she has received from the people of the state.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh have made their own identity. The brave people and fighters of the state have written a new definition of crisis and protected India. The President appreciated the culture of Arunachal Pradesh and greeted the people of the state on the occasion of its Statehood Day. Arunachal Pradesh is very beautiful and I extend my greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the state’s Foundation Day. The President will address a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly at Itanagar on Tuesday.
