  • President Kovind, Leaders pay tribute to former EAM Sushma Swaraj

    President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at her residence in New Delhi this morning.

    Leaders across party lines also paid last respects to the departed leader at her residence. The prominent among them include Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind, Kejriwal, BJP national working president JP Nadda, BSP Chief Mayawati, BJP MP Hema Malini, Kerala’s former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and TMC MP Derek O’ Brien. Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Yoga Gurur Ramdev also paid homage to the astute leader.

    Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Environment Babul Supriyo and Delhi BJP president and MP Manoj Tiwari also paid tribute to Sushma Swaraj at her residence in New Delhi.

    Sushma Swaraj’s mortal remains are being kept at her residence for people to pay their last respects and later will be brought to BJP Headquarters for the people to pay their last respects. Her last rites will be performed with full State honours at Lodhi Road Crematorium after 3 PM.
