President, PM Greet people Telangana celebrates state formation day

Telangana is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Formation Day today. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao hoisted the National Flag at a ceremonial programme held on the lawns of Jubilee Hall at Public Gardens in Hyderabad.

He appealed to the people to play a greater role in the implementation of three new legislation in the offing including the New Revenue Act, Municipal Act and the Panchayat Raj Act in making the governance in the state corruption-free and transparent.

The tri-colour was also unfurled at all constitutional setups, Government offices and public places across the state amidst enthusiasm.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people of Telangana on their Statehood Day today. In a tweet, Mr Kovind wished all the residents of the state for a bright and prosperous future.

Mr Modi said, Telangana is known for its hardworking citizens who are making great contributions to the nation’s development.
