Ahemdabad correspondent reports that US President Trump and US first lady Melania also visited Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram on his way to Motera Stadium for Namaste Trump program.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi guided President Trump and US first lady Melania at the historic Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram the symbol of India’s freedom struggle. President Trump and Melania Trump keenly watch the Sabarmati Ashram founded by father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.
President Trump also tried his hands on spinning wheel at the Hriday Kunj in Sabarmati Ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba lived during the India’s freedom struggle. According to sources, President Trump was gifted a spinning wheel, two books on the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi and a portrait of the Father of the Nation. President Trump thanked Prime Minister Modi with “thank you- for this wonderful visit” of Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram.
