Press Note on going back to work by Mr. Pradeep Lala, MD & CEO, Embassy Services

With rapid vaccination drives underway, we are more confident of employees returning to the physical workplace soon. While the fear of a third wave and global ambiguities continue to persist and delay this transition, we would see employers promoting a hybrid work culture where employees part work from home and use the office for collaboration and engagement. Given the situation of 100% occupancy, we will see redesigning of workstations to allow an average 30% increase in per person space provision.

As facility managers our role is integral regardless of these modules. While employees work from home, we still have the responsibility of ensuring 100% uptime of critical assets such as servers and support infrastructure. When employees report to the facility, we are prepared with maximized safety through dissemination of detailed SOPs that address critical areas such as indoor air quality, safety & hygiene, visitor management, security & surveillance, waste management, ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) and compliance. QR code technology and IoT based sensor technology are being actively adopted to promote a safe and contactless environment.

As large and small organizations prepare for the largest transition to the office space, FMs are able and ready to deliver the best practices that ensure business continuity.
