    Kokrajhar: The All Primary Teachers Association, Kokrajhar subdivision Association today staged a 3 hours sit in agitation programme on revival of Old pension scheme and uniformity in pay scale structure and other demands.

    Around a hundred primary school teachers from various parts of Kokrajhar carried out the protest infront of Block Elementary Officer, Kokrajhar. A memorandum was sent to the Prime Minister through the Office of Block Elementary Officer, Kokrajhar.

    The demand includes removal of anomilies of Sixth Central Pay Commission and implements the recommendation of Seventh Central Pay Commission with effect from 1st January 2016 for the primary teachers throughout the country uniformly.

    It also demanded all contractual teachers working under different nomenclature like contractual teachers, state pool teacher, siksha mitra/gana shikhak etc and not getting salary in Assam should be regularised before 31st  March 2020, strengthen elementary education and ensure participation of teachers’ organisations while finalising the National Education Policy 2019 and School Education Act 2019 in Assam, to entitle the grade pay of head teachers and graduate teachers according to the 7th pay commission, supply of uniform to students and provincilisation of venture schools immediately.

    The Association leaders stated that the government should discuss the demands in all aspects and should make effort to revive the Old Pension Scheme without delay and other demands should also be considered favourably.
