Hyderabad (Hindusthan Samachar) : The poll-alliance between TDP and BJP witnessed protests from a section of cadre in both the parties. Particularly, those who are losing chances to contest in the polls due to allotment of seat to other party, tried to register protests with their party leadership.

BJP workers from Ranga Reddy district stormed into state BJP office in Nampalli and protested for conceding some of seats where BJP is sure to win to TDP. They have given slogans demanding to give up alliance with BJP.

However, Telangana State BJP President G Kishan Reddy, who has been opposing any electoral understanding with Telugu Desam Party, has said he would abide the party’s decision to forge an alliance with the yellow party. He said there was some dissatisfaction among party workers over the alliance and they were registering their protest through demonstrations.
‘Naturally, there will be some heart burn among leaders due to the decision taken by the party leadership. I am trying to explain to them under what circumstances the alliance was forged and that they should work for the victory of party candidates in the ensuing Assembly and general elections,’ he said.

There could be dissatisfaction before the alliance, but once the party has taken a decision in favour of pact, everyone have to work for the victory of the party, he said. ‘Bharatiya Janata Party is going to form government at the Center and hence party workers should see that the party wins more number of seats,’ he said.

Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, Telugu Desam district president and MLA from Medak, announced his intention to resign from the party and put in his papers soon after. TDP workers from Uppal and Khairatabad constituencies staged protest at the residence of party president N Chandrababu Naidu protesting for giving those two seats for BJP.

However, senior TDP politburo member and former finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said its alliance with the BJP would cause a political tsunami in Andhra Pradesh in which the other parties would get completely washed away.

“The Congress and the YSR Congress are damn scared that our alliance will cause a political tsunami in which they are bound to get washed away. Hence they are dubbing our alliance as unholy,”  he said.

According to him, development and transparent administration are our common agenda. People believe in the spotless leadership of Narendra Modi and N Chandrababu Naidu. The two leaders have the ability to ensure stable and corruption-free governance, he added.

The TDP re-aligned with the BJP in deference to the wishes of people from the grassroots level, he stressed, adding that the Congress and the YSRC had no right to comment on it.
